Who watches the watchmen?

My goodness, I've just discovered that my favourite graphic novel of all time, Watchmen (by Alan Moore of V for Vendetta fame, among others), is being turned into a movie.

I mean, it's been in the works for about 20 years now, but I had no clue that the project's actually made some headway since I'd last checked. In fact, I think they've finished shooting already! Turns out that Zack Snyder, the guy who directed 300, is directing it. I didn't like 300 that much, but the cinematography was pretty good, so I'm hoping this is good news.

There're a couple of pictures up on the official website already, and I'm pretty psyched up about the whole thing, even though the release date is about a year away.

I can't wait! =O

Watchmen was originally published by DC comics as a 12-comic book series between 1986 and 1987, before subsequently being collected into a trade paperback. It is the only graphic novel to win the prestigious Hugo Award or to be named among Time magazine’s "100 Best English Language Novels from 1923 to the Present."
